Hillwood’s Gender & Sexuality Alliance (GSA) Club
Come learn about our GSA Club!

The Gender & Sexuality Alliance Club is a welcoming cozy environment. The Gender & Sexuality Alliance (GSA) is an association that is run by guidance counselor, Mrs. Sally Wilson-Harmening.
Hillwood had made this club three years ago after a former student had pitched the idea to a former teacher and Ms. Wilson. The club is offered to all Hillwood students, with 9th graders still having a chance to be included.
GSA wants students in the club to feel at ease knowing that there is a club that will help with finding a place.
“[GSA] is a safe place to socialize, to talk about politics, things going around the world,” Wilson said.
The GSA advisors are to come up with ideas for school events. There are currently five advisors. The advisors had planned out a spirit week we recently had.
“[GSA is] a very positive environment that is welcoming of everyone,” Renny Williams said.
GSA is a place where one can be themselves, find new recourses, as of this moment there is no upcoming events. Williams has learned the LGBTQ+ community and the straight community and how the society spotlights them.
For future December GSA events be on the lookout at their Instagram account @hillwoodsga. For any extra information about the club, you can go asl Ms. Wilson in the guidance counselor’s office.
Your donation will support the student journalists of Hillwood High School. Your contribution will allow us to purchase equipment and cover our annual website hosting costs.
