The Lawson Lightning track team is in full swing, with the latter half of the season approaching quickly.
“Lots of improvements have been made and we’re nowhere near the end. Continuing to improve not only physically but mentally also,” sophomore long jumper D’Arens Guerrier said.
The Lightning competed in the Metro Nashville City Championship track meet in which they brought home numerous medals.
“We showed out last night and we proved to all the teams at the meet that we weren’t there to mess around,” sophomore 400-meter runner Jacob Edwards said.
The Lightning have a meet coming up in two weeks at Ensworth High School where they will compete against some of the best track and field teams in the area.
“We are a team to look out for –we have improved every day, and we are continuing to do so,” freshman shot put thrower Lawrence Patterson said.
