Lawson Wrestling Update

Lawson+Wrestling+Update

The Lighting wrestling team is off to a hot start going 5-4 in their first 9 dual matches.

“We have a large and young team. We have had some success along with some adversity. Our greatest quality is our resilience, and because of that, I am confident that we will go a long way this season,” Head Coach Clifford Terrell said.

The Lightning has a home match tomorrow against Harpeth and Goodpasture.

“We don’t want to lose at home and were not going to lose at home,” team captain Franklin Wright said.

The Lightning has an upcoming tournament this weekend at the Beech Invitational where they look to have a lot of success.

“I’m truly excited to see what the rest of the season has in store for us. We have several returning sectional, and a couple returning state qualifiers, along with a good young core to back that up. We’ve shown success in defeating know wrestling powerhouse teams such as beech, and cane ridge, and I’m confident we can keep that same energy moving forward,” Assistant Coach Roberto Maldonado-Martinez said.
