The Lawson Lightning football team started off hot going 3-2 in their first five games under new Head Coach Brian Lilly.

“We want to go 1-0 every week. We want to win, and that’s what we preach,” Head Coach Brian Lilly said.

The Lightning Football team had three straight wins over Cheatham County, Sycamore, and Stratford before losing their first games of the season to Centennial and Spring Hill.

“We want to win we have to work hard and improve every day,” Special Teams Coordinator Brandon Wright said.

The Lightning football team is on the road this week as they take on their main rival, Hillsboro High school.

“We need to get back in the win column. We play a talented team this week, and in order to make the playoffs, we have to win regional games. This is a good one to win,” junior tight-end DJ Rucker said.
