    Spring Holiday

    Spring+Holiday

All MNPS will celebrate a holiday called “spring holiday “ on March 29, 2024. Spring Holiday is a break or time off during the spring season observed by the Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) district.

While spring holiday happens, students and families may engage in activities like spending time outdoors, and at community events or simply enjoy time off from school responsibilities.

“During Easter and Spring Holiday I would relax and hang out with my family and Easter is a day when I would have Easter dinner with my family,“ sophomore Tink X said.

Easter is a moveable holiday and is celebrated on the first Sunday after the first full moon following the vernal equinox. It can fall anywhere between March 22 and April 25..

“In some places, Easter parades featuring festive decorations, music, and traditional costumes are organized to celebrate the holiday,” English teacher Alexis Brooks said.

Some common symbols associated with Easter include Easter eggs, representing new life and rebirth, and the Easter bunny, a symbol of fertility and the arrival of spring.

“During Easter I do easter egg hunting with my family and I go out to eat with my family and I also do other event things with my family,“ senior Jada-Simone Burley said.

The tradition of decorating and hiding Easter eggs is symbolic of new life and rebirth. It is a popular activity for children, who often participate in Easter egg hunts.

“During Easter I do family events with my family like Easter cookouts and I also go to Church,” campus supervisor Pam McGee said.

“Happy Easter” is a common greeting exchanged during the Easter season, along with well wishes for joy and blessings. It is a time of renewal and hope, marked by various traditions that strengthen familial bonds and create lasting memories.

Easter can vary based on their individual experiences, beliefs, and cultural backgrounds. Encouraging open discussions and exploration of the different aspects of Easter can help children develop a well-rounded understanding of the holiday.

Easter holds deep spiritual and theological significance for Christians, reminding them of the core beliefs of their faith and the hope of salvation through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
