Taylor Swift Makes History with Latest Album ‘Midnights’
Taylor swift occupies all 10 spots of the top 10 billboard with her new album “midnights”
On October 21, 2022, Taylor Swift released her new album “Midnights” after a quiet two years of only re-released music. After Folklore and Evermore’s big success, this was her big return into the world of pop.
“[This was her return] back to her pop era,” junior Bailey Villers said.
There’s always been a big divide in the ‘Swifty’ community because of her switch in genres.
“She always been number one,” senior Annalee Watson stated.
Swift’s ‘Midnights’ made history when she had all top 10 spots of the Top 100 Billboard filled, making her the first artist to do this.
“[This] caused a big divide because of the history the album made,” Villers said.
A lot of people questioned whether Swift deserved these awards, but the mass support of the album proved otherwise with 228 million streams in the first 24 hours on Spotify.
“[This gave] something for everyone to look forward to,” Villers said.
Swift made a big return with this album, and made a bigger return to the world with the history it made. Her change throughout the years gave her big success and new learning experience throughout her career and inspired countless fans.
“It brought back my cray teenage girl era” Watson said.
